Some days it feels like my wedding was a lifetime ago, and some days it feels like yesterday. December 5, 2014 was one of the happiest and best days of my life!
As soon as I got engaged, people started coming up to me with suggestions and tips to make my wedding day run smoother. Some of the suggestions I used on my wedding day and some I did not. Below are a few suggestions that helped me through my big day!
- Take a few minutes just to yourself that day. I know that it seems that you may not have the time that day, but schedule it in. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee by myself that morning for about 20 minutes and just be alone with my thoughts and to pray.
- Have a few minutes alone with just your husband after the ceremony. We were so lucky and thankful that our wedding venue had a room set aside for us to be together before the reception. They had food and drinks for us and we were able to have a few much needed minutes alone together.
- Take it all in. You may think that you have a lot of time between the ceremony and reception, but that time flies by. Before you know it you are leaving the reception. After 3 years, I still remember that feeling of walking down the aisle and seeing my husband’s reaction to seeing me. I remember saying our vows to each other and the feeling that I was the luckiest person at that moment as I was marrying my best friend. I remember all of our friends and family who had traveled from near and far to celebrate our wedding day.
Congratulations, and I hope that these tips are as helpful to you on your wedding day as they were for me!
